When I say diet, I’m not talking about extreme diets either.
If you’ve read some of my previous articles, you know that ‘on and off’ weight loss isn’t recommended due to the negative health effects in the long run.
However, if you’ve already committed to eating healthy and/or working out, that’s great.
You can choose to do these 3 things for a couple of days to speed up weight loss to get extra motivation. You can also add them to your daily lifestyle.
Here are the 3 things that you can do to lose weight faster naturally.
3 Safe and Natural Ways To Lose Weight Faster
1- Try Intermittent Fasting
First, before you even start thinking about it, intermittent fasting isn’t about starving yourself.
Fasting is actually a surprisingly healthy way to lose weight faster because of the method you choose.
It has numerous health benefits such as:
- Improved craving control
- Lower blood pressure
- Increased metabolism
- Weight loss
So how does an intermittent fast work?
Let’s first understand what an intermittent fast is.
Intermittent fasting is making a conscious decision to eat all of your meals in a set time frame and not eat anything for the rest of the day. It’s basically skipping one meal.
A typical example would be eating your meals from 1 pm to 8 pm on a specific day, and then not eating for the next 16 hours. So if you think about it, you eat lunch and dinner, go to bed, and then skip breakfast.
Another thing is that intermittent fasting is not a diet, more of an eating pattern that you can use to complement your regular diet.
Here’s how you can use it to lose weight faster.
- You eat fewer calories
- You use your calories more efficiently
- It’s easy to implement into your lifestyle.
You can think of it as skipping one meal, which is likely to be breakfast.
You will be allowed to drink things like herbal teas, matcha green tea, apple cider vinegar (with water) or even black coffee (if you need it). These beverages will help you to suppress the hunger cravings.
With IF, your body will be burning calories that it has been holding on to, which speeds up your weight loss.
It’s also very flexible.
Some persons choose to fast for up to 24 hours but for others who are new to it, starting with 12 or even 16 hours will be more reasonable.

2- Do a 3-day Carb Detox
Detoxing can get a bad rep sometimes. But don’t believe the rumors. It is an incredible way to lose weight faster if you do it right.
There are different types of detoxing that you can do, but the one I’m suggesting that you try out is a carb detox.
We all eat differently but based on what I know about a traditional diet (having been on one for most of my life), you’re probably eating more carbs than your body actually needs.
If you want to lose weight faster, it’s time to give your body a break. And not just from carbs either.
You see, the meat, heavy foods, unhealthy oils and general load that we consume daily can actually throw our metabolism off balance. These foods are also not good for our digestive health.
I’m not saying that you’re going to lose all traces of this in the 3 days on a carb detox, but you will lose some of the effects that it has on your body.
Here are some things that you can expect from a carb detox:
- You’re likely to lose 3-4 pounds
- You will feel more energized at the end of it
- You sugar cravings will decrease
Now, these are the good things.
The downside is that you are also likely to experience some headaches and cravings as your body tells you that it absolutely needs the bagel or sugar that you’ve been feeding it for the last 10 years.
Old habits are hard to break.
So that’s why you need to make this carb detox as easy as possible if you want to lose weight faster. You need to be as prepared as possible.

Remember that any detox or cleanse is a short-term solution as most of the weight that you lose will be from water.
To make this solution long term, you can take a break from carbs for one full day or half a day every week. You can also go on a low carb diet.

3- Go On a Juice Cleanse
Ok, you’ve decided that the first two options were not for you. You need food or you’ll get hangry. I get you. Maybe this option will be more appealing.
But first, what is a juice cleanse?
This is an easy way to give your body a rest from all the unhealthy foods that we feed it on a regular basis. You will drink raw veggie-based juices to get the nutrients you need. Otherwise, you won’t really be eating.
Your body doesn’t have to do much digestion because of the raw juices that you’ll be having.
Here are some things to consider:
- The weight you’ll be losing is water weight.
- Don’t do a juice cleanse for too long; you’ll start to feel crappy.
- Have juices that are high in veggies and greens, not fruits. This is to prevent energy swings because fruits are high in sugar.
Based on what your regular diet is like, the time that you will do a juice cleanse for will vary. If you already eat pretty healthy and just need a boost, 1 or 2 days should be enough to get the reset you need.
If you eat a typical American diet that is high in fast food, processed carbs, and a small amount of fresh fruits and vegetables, you may need a little longer.
If you want this option to be long-term, you can replace one meal with a green juice every few days.
Some things that happen to your body on a juice cleanse include:
- Weight loss
- Cleaner energy
Like the detox, it will also have some side effects like fatigue in the first few days. It depends on how long you choose to do it.
